Journal Entry 1 by schwester from Wien Bezirk 03 - Landstraße, Wien Austria on Thursday, June 09, 2011
I bought this book as a start of the wishlist tag game at the RABCK forum for Bloedengel. I chose it because it sounded interesting. It starts in 1964 when because of a blizzard orthopedic surgeon David Henry has to deliver his own child only with the help of a nurse - but the child turns out to be twins: a healthy boy and a girl with trisomy 21. Without telling his wife he decides to keep only the son. Not that I am too content with gender equality today here in central Europe, but: OMG, I think it´s really big luck for everyone that I did not have to live earlier, I could never have fitted into a time where women are treated like idiots. THIS is a great book, I liked it VERY much. And it caught me totally in the right time, being home sick and without a TV (I never have a TV, but normally I´m not sick, so I don´t need one :-)

Journal Entry 2 by schwester at Wien Bezirk 03 - Landstraße, Wien Austria on Friday, June 10, 2011
Released 11 mos ago (6/10/2011 UTC) at Wien Bezirk 03 - Landstraße, Wien Austria CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
So, this is unbelievable! I bought this book for about 6.50 euro at Amazon because it was on your wishlist... today I wanted to post it with the Austrian federal mail services, and they told me the cheapest version (taking up to 8 EIGHT!!! weeks WEEKS!!! I could walk to Belgium in this time!) would cost 13.60 euro! I directly asked the poor guy at the counter if he is nuts and told him I could buy 2 new books at amazon for that money, have it delivered in all over europe and still have the money to buy myself an icecream. And he really (little funny though) seemed ashamed and told me it was the new prices, just some days old and he knows, it´s really expensive. So I cancelled the stamp, took the book home, ordered a new copy on amazon (the price even went down this week to 5.94 euro!) and here you are. Please write the BCID that comes with the receipt into the book.... I still can´t believe it, are they totally out of their minds?!

Journal Entry 3 by Bloedengel at Turnhout, Antwerpen / Anvers Belgium on Wednesday, June 22, 2011
Oh, but they are here all the same ! ! ! I cross the Dutch border more easily , and cheaper than posting in Belgium. But your rates seem even crazier ! Here this book would be 'package' because not fitting the letterbox. Then it would be class 2 , because slightly to heavy for class 1 , so you could send it for some 13 euro also but only within Europe 1 (which isn't that many countries) . The Dutch just weigh the thing and charge you with +/- 6 euro max for a likewise book. Which is still expensive. But reasonable ! Thank you very much for this generous act Schwester. I don't know why you chose me to be your victim but I am very much honoured, and I will do my best to find it a worthy next reader. And I also hope to participate in your wishlist-tag-game, it is just awesome ! I don't know yet which copy will travel the quickest though, because I have to admit I got another one of this book just a few days ago because of winning the int'l sweepstake... But I will honour them both and make them travel ! ! ! ! ! ! !!

Journal Entry 6 by ApoloniaX at Bremen, Bremen Germany on Saturday, December 10, 2011
This seems to be the first book that ever got wishlist tagged in the international game! An interesting read - an ethical dilemma, a horrible decision - and the impact that shapes several people's lives. Usually I'm not exactly into family dramas and such kind of novels, but this was a good read. A bit too emotional, but an important topic, circling around discrimination and stigmatization. A few things were rather improbable - the plot might not have worked otherwise, though. There's a TV adaptation, I just found out...

It sure was a surprise, and a really pleasant one! Thank you :) Although I now have two copies of this book, I'll make sure to let one of them travel on while reading the other one myself. Thanks once more!
