Journal Entry 3 by chamonix44 at Almelo, Overijssel Netherlands on Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Whilst on holiday recently in England, I visited the Slack Space obcz to leave a lot of books on the shelves there. Whilst there I was happy to see lots of children's books on the top shelf. We were in a hurry, and so I picked up a handful of the books to bring back to The Netherlands with me. Later, when I looked through them I saw that I had two copies of this title. I will be taking one to my step-granddaughter to read. Later it will be released.

Journal Entry 4 by chamonix44 at Almelo, Overijssel Netherlands on Thursday, June 23, 2011
I read the book in the car on the way to IKEA this morning. It is a very funny little book. I really liked it. The illustrations are really great. I cannot pick out a favourite picture as they are all good, but I will point out that I like the pic on page 34 with the two cat's eyes shining out from the depths of the dark saucepan cupboard!! This reminds me of my own cat, who is also a little horror! A very enjoyable read and I rated it with 9 stars out of 10. I will be passing this book on to my step-granddaughter to read next. When she has finished reading it, I will put her review here.

Chamonix44, you are so sweet :)) I love children books, I mean good ones, but you have got a good taste :)) I believe you! Thank you so much for sending this pearl to me... and you made me think about.... what kind of color do I use it here... My latest favorite the purple was used twice, I hope this teal will fit well... I must check it... [...] Yes, it is great... :))) 2011.12.12. Funny read... LOL... There is a wise cat, who is watching the world of human with its so calm and relax way... Ouch... The case of rabbit was hilarious, though the act was not told not even by cat itself, I also believed that the cat was the culprit...hihihi... it was "obvious" but it turned out that wasn't... :)) Thank you for sharing this book with me!!

Thank you for this lovely little HGG surprise, Hakkalina! Yep, cats are killers - that's how they should be! Nice little book & illustrations. I've read a lot by Anne Fine before, but nothing directed at kids this young. I'll pass on the book now, perhaps someone will take it at a meet-up tomorrow. Thanks again and Merry Christmas to all previous journallers!

Journal Entry 12 by kirjakko at Helsinki, Uusimaa Finland on Sunday, December 18, 2011
I was the last guest in the pre-X-mas party and found this left on the table. It was a nice quick read (well, half the book was ads of Ms Fine's other books). My oh my, am I glad to have dogs... Although Tuffy sounds a bit like my friend's Welsh Springer Spaniel, always catching something furry or feathery. I remember the first time I went to my friend's summer cottage. In the evening we took the dogs for the last little stroll in the garden and Riemu came back with a baby hare. The time we got it away from her it was gutted but still alive. My friend took all five dogs in to avoid a tug-of-bunny and shouted from the inside "Kill it!" (And SHE is a vet!). Curtain. I've heard the Thumper-story told with a dog as the culprit, so this wasn't original Ms Fine, but fitted the story all the same. And believe you me, working as a vet nurse, we do get our occasional "Cat from Hell". There are so many cat people among the bookcrossers I do not know where to send the book first...

Journal Entry 14 by quietorchid at Saint Paul, Minnesota USA on Saturday, January 21, 2012
Oh what a treat! The postman came and brought me such a smile! A wonderfully funny book as an unexpected Rabck and a nice card. I immediately read the book with my coat still on and had a good laugh. Which is a good thing, as bad cat is still here, growling at us from the back bedroom, and everyone here in the states is talking about how the last stages of this cold hang on. The book is great, I actually figured the bunny had issues when the first rinse water was brown.... Edited to add the journal thread for the story of the bad, bad cat: http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/5/470514
