Journal Entry 1 by NMReader from Herndon, Virginia USA on Tuesday, May 31, 2011
Welcome to BookCrossing! It's a site for catching and releasing books and spreading the good karma of reading! Please make a journal entry when you FIND this book and let previous readers know how you came upon it. You may remain anonymous on this site if you like but it's very safe and spam free. We leave FREE books around for others to stumble upon...they read, and then re-release in a public place for someone else to enjoy. Of course you're welcome to keep the book if you prefer but it's more fun to watch them travel and to hear from them once in a while. I hope you enjoy the book but I especially hope you enjoy BookCrossing. "Every book, every volume you see here, has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens ..." Carlos Ruiz Zafon (The Shadow of the Wind)

Journal Entry 2 by NMReader at Herndon, Virginia USA on Tuesday, May 31, 2011
Jane Austen's Ultimate Bad Boy has his say: 11 July 1784 Why should I be beneath Fitzwilliam? I am just as handsome as he is; I am just as intelligent, even though he works harder at his books; and I am just as amusing; in fact I dare say I am a great deal more amusing, for Fitzwilliam is so proud he will not take the trouble to entertain other people. Yet although he is no better than me, when he grows up he will inherit Pemberley, and I will inherit nothing... He wasn't always this cold-hearted... George Wickham had everything going for him. He's handsome, charming and sincere. Old Mr. Darcy loves him like a son. Fitzwilliam Darcy, the companion of his youth, is powerful and moral. What are the forces then that would turn this young man's destiny from one of promise to one of treachery and villainy? And could it happen again?

This is a fairly easy read and it was my good companion for a few days away from work. It made me like Wickham in a way I'd never expected to like. :D

When it rains, it pours! I just received this today, and have a few library books to get through before the end of the month so will start reading as soon as I'm finished with those. It looks like a quick read so it won't take me long. Looking forward to it!

Ok, I lied! This was a quick and easy read, and even though I just intended to dabble in it as I finished some longer novels, it was just too easy to go through the book instead. On its way to Tsjara in the Netherlands through this bookring.

Journal Entry 14 by Tsjara at Assendelft, Noord-Holland Netherlands on Thursday, August 25, 2011
Released 9 mos ago (8/25/2011 UTC) at Assendelft, Noord-Holland Netherlands CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This was indeed a quick read (and I am a slow reader). Took it with me on the train, read about half and finished the other half the day after. It was a very easy and entertaining read. Wickham actually doesn't seem that bad here, he just doesn't really think ahead (and then gets into trouble), like Darcy mentioned in the beginning. Or according to Wickham, he just lives for the moment.. Mailed the book to JudySlump612 today. Happy reading!

Journal Entry 16 by JudySlump612 at Minneapolis, Minnesota USA on Friday, September 30, 2011
NMReader didn't want this back, nor did the OBCZ she referred me to, so I'll go ahead and release it at a Minneapolis OBCZ. And by a happy coincidence, I have an extra copy of Pride & Prejudice to release with it, so there's an opportunity for a reader with extra-good taste to score a double catch. It was a fun read, but it didn't really ring true to me. This shows him planning to ensnare an heiress, but in P&P he never had that much foresight. First, he was at least smart enough to realize that Lydia was no financial prize. Then we learn quickly that he wasn't interested in marrying her, he just had to leave town quickly because of his debts and she talked him into letting her come along. He and Lydia truly deserve each other - neither one has any idea of future consequences. So future readers, what do you think about this book? I hope you enjoy the journal entries it's collected so far, and please feel free to add your own. Then you can share it with a friend or leave it in a public place for a stranger to pick up, and join the fun!
