According to the back of the book, Milo is bored. When a tollbooth suddenly appears in his room, he goes through because he has nothing better to do. Things are diffenent over there. He goes to the Island of Conclusions (by jumping), learns about time from Tock, and tries to recuse Rhyme and Reason. Along the way he learns that life is far from dull.
This one was too old for my granddaughter so she suggested I trade for something she can read. I would say this book is for about a 10 year old.

I've heard such wonderful things about this book, and am excited to have grabbed this on the bookrelay! Thanks for sharing, Martie-Kr! I will read soon!
What an imaginative story, and so much to learn from it. This book has been around so long, I can't believe that it was never introduced to me as a child.
My favorite character was Tock, but I also liked the Island of Conclusions. I loved all the plays on words!
