I am a huge fan of Elizabeth George's, but I did not enjoy this book at all. I found it was very depressing and oppressive and terrible. I am surprised I even finished it.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Happy birthday, hope you like the book!
I was VERY pleased to receive this book from the birthday game - thank you, Pinkoeria! However, having read your comments, I am not sure I am looking forward to reading it... :S
Well, first of all I passed this book on to my bookworm of a student, Marita, as she is a huge Elizabeth George fan. She told me she enjoyed it. Then I read it, and I have to say I agree with you Pinkoeria. Gloomy, depressing, oppressive. I didn't enjoy it at all. I am going to wild release this book later this week when I go on holiday, in the hope that it finds a more appreciative reader! (I don't think I can offer it to anyone on book crossing because if they read these journal entries in advance, they won't want the book!!)
