Journal Entry 4 by wandering at Den Haag, Zuid-Holland Netherlands on Wednesday, August 10, 2011
Not exactly a book that I would have expected from Roald Dahl, but simultaneously recognizable as a Dahl story. Bawdy is a good word, indeed. You can also always count on Dahl to teach you a couple of new words, as he uses rich language with plenty of nuance. ----- p.38: His mind was wandering and he had to be fed by spoon. p.52: The Russion was languidly dressing herself and wandering round my room looking at this and that. p.88: I had spent much of the day wandering casually in and out of the lab, reconnoitring the terrain and gradually easing the cabinets twnty inches away from the wall so that I could squeeze in behind.
