Falling Angels (CD - Audiobook)
2 journalers for this copy...
Falling Angels starts at the death of Queen Victoria and centers around two families, the Colemans and Waterhouses, who become acquainted due to having cemetery plots next to each other. The story is told by several characters in the book but the main tellers of the tale are the young daughters, Maud Coleman and Lavinia Waterhouse. Maud comes from a upper class family whose mother, Kitty, is a well educated woman who finds herself restless with her wife/mother role. Lavinia is from a middle class family whose mother is quite comfortable with her role of running a household. As the girls grow, the British nation is moving on from its Victorian values and Kitty Coleman is bound to be a part of that change. The results are disastrous, changing both families forever.

Arrived safely back into my care.

Back from my friend. She enjoyed the book. Now I need to listen to it.
Started listening to this book this morning in my car. How long it takes will depend on how much driving I do when I am alone.
When I was on disc one I couldn't seem to get into the book and almost gave up listening. I am so glad I did not! This book is a gem. I felt that the characters were real and had depth. I loved the way different characters took turns telling the story. I believe that Chevalier did an amazing job of telling the different sides of the issues. I loved how the story took the twists and turns. Chevalier showed how even innocent decisions can effect outcomes. The grief from these decisions is real. I won't go into detail as it will spoil the story for others.
Enjoy! off to a friend at work.
Back from my friend. She said she had a hard time getting into the book but once she did she loved it.
Enjoy! off to one of my "GALS" friend.
