1928 Newbery Medal Winner

A good story even if I'm not that crazy about pigeons. I didn't know there was an Indian Brigade fighting in Europe during World War II.

I love the illustrations, and apparently I'm not the only one. Someone blogged about them here. This one shows what the weather was like last night, just in time for Dad's birthday. We got drenched going from the parking lot to the restaurant for dinner!

This may be part of a Newbery book ring soon.
