Journal Entry 4 by lightwavz from Detroit, Michigan USA on Wednesday, September 17, 2003
Just received in today's mail... Thanks, kikimasu! I'll get right into reading it... hopefully it won't take me as long as "Wicked" did! (At least it seems shorter :)!!!). Long live the fairy tales (in their more literate lives by Maguire especially!)!

Journal Entry 5 by lightwavz from Detroit, Michigan USA on Friday, October 10, 2003
Finished this up a couple of minutes ago... I'll have to admit that I liked "Wicked" better and that I had a really hard time getting into this one. I restarted reading three times before it really caught my attention and I figured out what was going on. I suppose I just had too many expectations and that this story starts long before the fairy tale does. But when all of the pieces finally fit together, it was a beguiling and terrifying little story of the wicked ways of ordinary people. I loved the little twist at the end as well. As far as I am concerned, Maguire can write nothing but these grown-up rewrites and I will be perfectly happy! I'm sending this one on to Loreli03 today. Thanks again, kikimasu, for sending this one around!!

Journal Entry 8 by Lorelei03 at Postal Release - USPS in Flushing, New York USA on Wednesday, November 05, 2003
Released on Wednesday, November 05, 2003 at Postal Release - USPS in Flushing, New York USA. I enjoyed this book, although I agree that Macguire's first book was better. I feel as though the majority of the characters were well fleshed out and had a true presence. Though I would not call this a feminist re-telling of the original Cinderella, I would recommend it to others. Today I sent this book off on a journey to Cyber-Pixie via the US mail - enjoy! And thanks to kikimasu for sharing!

Not having read Macguire's other book, I thought this one was What an enjoyable read! I haven't read Macguire's other book, but I really want to now... I thought 'Step Sister' was such a wonderfully written, enthralling tale. PM'ing the next person on the list and getting it out soon.

Journal Entry 12 by Jas330 from Lakewood, Washington USA on Tuesday, June 29, 2004
Opps...I think I was accidently sent the wrong book. I was wondering about that. But if nobody minds too much, I'd really like to read it before passing it along to the next person. (By the way JKate, I was supposed to get "She's Not There".) I'm going to assume it's okay that I read the book before passing it along, because I've really been wanting to read a Gregory Maguire book. If there is a problem, let me know.

Journal Entry 16 by karendawn from Lafayette, Indiana USA on Thursday, August 12, 2004
I quite enjoyed this book. It was different than what I had expected (even after having read Wicked), but I really liked Iris (even if she didn't like herself) and really wanted everything to work out for her. And lots of good thoughts throughout the book on how we perceive things and how they actually are. I will be sending this to Chocolatefishy tomorrow (Fanclub asked to be removed from the list, having already received a copy of the book).

Journal Entry 19 by chocolatefishy from Asheville, North Carolina USA on Tuesday, September 07, 2004
Wow! Finally making a journal entry! I really, really enjoyed this book. Which is surprising, since I absolutely hated Wicked. But this one, was really good. I think what I really liked about this book was that it stuck to the story of Cinderella. Sure it stuck other things in there, but with Wicked, he had this whole random thing going on that I couldn't relate to the original story. With this book, I could relate all that happened as a possibilty, and atleast not too farfetched. P.S. Mrsordonez asked me to skip her, and I've PMED curtangel, she hasn't PMed me back yet though.
