From the cover:
"There's Aibileen, raising her seventeenth white child and nursing the hurt caused by her own son's tragic death; Minny, whose cooking is nearly as sassy as her tongue; and white Miss Skeeter, home from college, who wants to know why her beloved maid has disappeared.
Skeeter, Aibileen, and Minny. No one would believe they'd be friends; fewer still would tolerate it. But as each woman finds the courage to cross boundaries, they come to depend and rely upon one another. Each is in search of a truth. And together they have an extraordinary story to tell ..."

What a lovely surprise! This arrived today (together with A Reckless Beauty). And I've been wanting to read this book, having heard so much about it and the movie (haven't seen it yet though). Thanks a lot Smurphie!
Edit 27 Feb 2013: Will go to maid-of-kent when I have read it. :)

I finished reading this over the weekend and really enjoyed it. Sometimes I find it a bit annoying when the story is told by different characters and you like one of them better or their story more interesting than the others and have to trudge through the rest before you can get back to that character, but here I liked all three women, Aibileen, Minny, and Skeeter. Their stories just drew me in, some bits made me smile, some bits made me angry or sad. There is also a feeling of apprehension throughout the book, but it all ends kind of hopeful. Curious to see how the book has been translated to movie. (And still have to read To Kill a Mockingbird and Gone with the Wind some day. :p)

Thanks Tsjara. Looking forward to reading this one.
This book is SO good. How easy it would be to find its way to my little library. But the spirit of bookcrossing is stronger. I will buy my own copy. :-)
