The Silver Linings Playbook
2 journalers for this copy...
This story is narrated by the ever optimistic Pat, a 35 year old who has just been brought home from a mental institution to live with his parents. The novel follows his attempt to regain a normal life, control his mental health problems, resume his hearty support of the Philadelphia Eagles, and to win back his estranged wife Nikki, putting an end to their 'apart time'.
I liked the concept of the book, and some of the ways Pat interacted with people and looked at the world were great and funny.
But ultimately it failed to win me over. There were unrealistic characters, especially his theraptist who socalised with Pat and encouraged his violent streak if it involved non Eagle fans. The plot became ridiculous a "twist" too obvious to be considered a plot development. And the endless pages dedicated to American football were dull.

If you aren't familiar with Bookcrossing, take a few minutes to check out this very cool site. Bookcrossers LOVE books, and more than anything, they love to read books and then set them free for other people to find and enjoy. I would love it if you would leave a journal entry -- you can say where you found the book or how you liked it when you read it.
