6 out of 10

I read this because she is a fine writer and I really enjoyed her previous book Into The Woods which deservedly won awards. This was also well-written, but I felt it was over-long in places and the central premise - this is not a spoiler! - that an undercover cop could masquerade as another person, fooling people who had lived with the woman she was impersonating - I found completely unbeliveable. I was waiting for some explanation of the phenomenon but there was none. Having said that it was a well-written and enjoyable read.
