Their enchanted room is where the Game is played, the Game being their own bizarre version of life. All that they do outside is effectively controlled by the rules of the Game: unfortunately, what the rules of the Game prescribes is that the two children must die...

Received today, many thanks Danielle23 for sending it to me so quickly and for the gorgeous postcard. It looks like an interesting little book; I'll look forward to reading it. I have quite a few things on my TBR pile at the moment, so I won't get to this for a few weeks.

Hmm. I agree with Danielle about the strangeness of this book, yet it also has an unexpected charm and lightness. I think it's one of those whose atmosphere will stay with me.

I'll return this to the shelves of the 1001-library -- I hope it finds another reader soon.

That was an odd one, but there was something about it that made it really enjoyable. It drew you in, much as it did Gerard and Agatha.
