This is my favorite book by Brian Keene so far. It's a zombie story with traditional Romero-esque zombies...mostly. The protagonist is my favorite of Keene's characters, as well. I'll most likely add this to a horror/sci-fi bookbox that is making its' way to me.

Thank you AKSarah for thinking of me and sending me this book. It looks awsome :) And thank you also for the little button and the bookmark, they rock! I don't know if I dare eat the mints though... Do they turn you into a zombie? :P

THANK YOU <3

I'm facinated by the apocolyse-theme, what happens to humans, and to humanity, in such extreme situations. This book offered a glimpse into the breakdown of our society. What irritated me though were the kind of boring stereotypes: women weren't much more than equal to children, people you had to protect and couldn't rely on to activly fight the zombies or in any other way contribute to the community. Yeah, that irritated me a lot, but it was still an ok book.

This book started out slow. In fact, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to finish it...but then - about the mid point of the book, I had a hard time putting it down (I did, because I needed sleep). (highlight to read the rest, a bit of a spoiler involved)I have read quite a bit of horror, but not so many zombie novels, but it seemed pretty innovated that the animals (well some of them) became zombies, just like the humans. Dead humans stalking you is scary, a pack of dead dogs tracking you is down right horrific. I really enjoyed this novel and would rec it to horror fans out there.

I pulled this from the bookbox for a friend of mine. He thinks the concept of Bookcrossing is cool. I'll make sure he releases this when he's done.
