2001 Vintage trade paperback of the 1980 mystery crime thriller by the award-winning British author. This was on my list of best past thrillers to read when I found this copy several days ago in the free books pile on the porch of Dimond Library.

I can let this go after I read:
1964 From Doon With Death [read 2009]
1965 To Fear a Painted Devil [read 2012]
1965 Vanity Dies Hard [n/a]
1967 A New Lease of Death (The Sins of the Fathers) [read 2020]
1967 Wolf to the Slaughter [read 2020]
1968 The Secret House of Death [n/a]
1969 The Best Man to Die [read 2020]
1970 A Guilty Thing Surprised [read 2020]
1971 One Across, Two Down [read 2020]
1971 No More Dying Then [read 2020]
1972 Murder Being Once Done [read 2021]
1973 Some Lie and Some Die [read 2013]
1974 The Face of Trespass [n/a]
1975 Shake Hands Forever [read 2021]
1976 A Demon in My View [read 2020]
