1 journaler for this copy...
This is not the copy of this book that I actually read. A guy from work loaned me his copy and I thought it is one of the best accounts of The First World War I've read (so far), so decided to buy a (second hand copy on play.com) to share with my Grandma and who ever else is interested. People need to read books like this to understand why war is a bad idea. Perhaps all world leaders need a copy then they will stop sending our soldiers out to die!
I found this book so facinating because it answered many questions I had about how trench warfare happened, what day to day living was like for the soldiers, when they got 'rested' from front line action. I was also horrified at how little sleep/rest they had in the front line. It is a miracle that they had the energy to fight. War drives humans to do all sorts.
