Not sure about this one at all. I enjoyed the incisive insights and turns of phrase, but it did drag so! I disliked all of the characters and couldn't empathise with any of them. It felt, strangely, a very feminine book and very much in the same genre as The Lovely Bones (which I detested). I hope it finds a more appreciative reader.

I am trying to broaden my reading by using the WBN 2011 list to try out different authors and different styles. This one just wasn't for me. It went back and forth too much, I confused characters and did not really get in to this at all. I did carry on reading to the very end though. Next book I am due to read is by CJ Sansom (Dark Fire) - I enjoyed his book (Dissolution) so much from the WBN list but have been warned his second isn't as good - oh well here goes :)
