Thank you so much, Hammu! You totally surprised me yesterday- It was quite exciting when I came home last night. I was tired, not on a very good mood — and then I saw the envelope. A beautiful one, covered with some nice flowery tapestry. And inside it, the was a book, I knew it instantly. I opened the envelope and there it was...Holiday at The Dew Drop Inn, my wishlist book! Couldn't believe my eyes.
I've read Kulmakujan perhe (orig. The Family from One End Street) many, many times as a kid and I've loved it sooo much. Back then, I never knew it had sequels, too. Finally, some two years ago I realised it, got Yllätyksiä Kulmakujalla (Further Adventures of the Family from One End Street) as a RABCK. And later read it, of course. Now I've got this one! Oh, happy me! And what more, this little book also is illustrated by the author herself. Pics by Eve Garnett are just cool.
Oh, and the postcard is a beauty, too.
THANK YOU, HAMMU! You're the best.

Admittedly, Kale has always been my least favourite person in the otherwise so lovely Ruggles family. In this book, she is, however, quite nice. I just don't see why she has to be so superior to her peers in the country.
Luckily, Garnett tells also a little about my favourites, Lily Rose, the twins and Mr. Ruggles. I only missed Jo.
All in all, I really enjoyed Holiday at The Dew Drop Inn. Thank you, Hammu!

Tarna handed me the book as we met over a cup of coffee today. Thanks! My 2013 has started with children's literature old and new: Dew Drop Inn will make a wonderful addition to my reading.

Oh, what a charming encounter this was!
Kate's stay at the Dew Drop Inn (love the name!) was pure delight. A good, slow read: something to savour. I'd never met the Ruggles family before; and, to be honest, was not able to relate to them at all when the rest of them rushed in to join Kate in the last few chapters. I wish it'd been just Kate throughout the book; and I am curious about her character in the previous book(s). I have a feeling she might've been quite a different little girl before the Dew Drop Inn — maybe not so obedient and dedicated, maybe not having discovered her talent yet?

Oh! This book has been with me for much too long. Planning to release it for new readers at tonight's meetup at Café Runo—should the *beloved blankets of rain* dry up in time!
This book didn't find new readers at the local BC-meeting of Tampere tonight, so I picked it up with me to be released abroad during the summer holidays.
