Borrowed from love2cook. This is a good but sad story. Joanna needs to clear her deputy sheriff husbands name as he has been shot and police brass are claiming he was involved in drug-running and commited suicide. She will take his place an run for Sheriff of Cochise County. She hunts for his killer and puts herself and her daughter in jeopardy.

Putting back on the bookshelf.

As the first of the Joanna Brady series, this was a good introduction into what promises to be a interesting group of stories. It lets you meet her first husband, Andy Brady a deputy sheriff, who is running for Sheriff of Cochise County. It has drug runners, hired killers, dirty cops, and of course, a large cover-up. Joanna is determined to clear her husbands name, after he is shot. The sheriff dept. is suspecting it was suicide. But Joanna know better or does she.........................A GOOD READ!!!
