Crime" is by some distance Welsh's most restrained and thoughtful work...Welsh's take is surprisingly considered and compassionate' Bought for my NSSSEB partner

I always find Irvine Welsh books interestingly different, so am looking forward to his take on crime!

Welsh's name is so well known I thought I would have already read something of his but I now realise I hadn't. This was an interesting double storyline but far more in the thriller genre than whodunnit, which is why it just didn't quite gel with me. I got to the end which must mean it was good enough to keep my attention, but probably not an author I would rush to read again. But that's just me, I like my detectives more considered and less jump in a the deep end! I'm sure there will be plenty of satisfied readers to follow.
