Journal Entry 1 by AgnesXNitt from Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire United Kingdom on Saturday, April 02, 2011
'Jenna loved everything about the 80s - the hair, the fashion, the music - and, most of all, Tommy Seer, pop legend. He was the one for her until he died when she was twelve. Her fiancé Adam was all set to take his place in her heart until he left and Jenna resigned herself to loving the one man she can never have. That is until a freak accident sends her back to 1987, and slap bang into Tommy's world. But how will sheconvince this stranger she knows so well that they're destined to be together?' Bought for £3.86 from Peterborough branch of Asda today. Not my usual genre but it strongly reminded me of BBC's 'Ashes to Ashes' so I had to have it :)

Journal Entry 2 by AgnesXNitt at Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire United Kingdom on Tuesday, April 19, 2011
This book was great! A total fluff retro indulgent read and perfect for me, still missing 'Ashes to Ashes' and always loving the 80s music thing :) 1980's TV channel worker Jenna has been cruelly dumped by her selfish boyfriend and has taken comfort in her teenage crush, Tommy Seer who died in a mysterious car accident in 1987. Mildly electricuted in her office store cupboard (how random and yet contrived is that? Yet I love it!) Jenna comes to to find that she has been rocketed back in time to 1987, working for a hot and happening music channel who just happen to be shooting the new Wild Boys, Tommy Seers' band, music video. When Jenna stammers a comment on what should happen in the filming, she is declared a genius, and the band's evil manager demands she be 'loaned' to him to spy on the band and report back to him. Jenna has no choice, and besides, it will allow her to be in the physical proximity to the man she has always thought would be perfect for her. But her dreams are thrown awry when Tommy isn't quite what she thought he would be, and neither are the rest of the band. With 'accidents' happening round Tommy with increasing regularity, a twisted and demanding manager, fake bitchy girlfriend and a nice yet slightly off boss trying to tell her something, Jenna has enough on her plate, not to mention trying to deal with the challenges of 80s fashion and not a Starbucks to found for love nor money. Tommy, on the other hand, after initially distrusting this strange young woman assigned to spy on the band, starts to find her more than a bit interesting on a professional and personal level. Can true love triumph in a situation where Jenna knows she has to prevent Tommy from dying, Tommy thinks she's nuts, and a would be killer gets ever more audacious? Well of *course* it can - and the soundtrack is pretty cool too :) Total fluff, but I loved it :) Might be ring material for fellow 80s fans!

As AgnesXNitt said this is total fluff, but very enjoyable all the same - I loved it. This was the decade when I did my nurse training, met my future husband, got engaged, married and had my eldest son whilst wearing some strange fashions and listening to great music. Good times :-)

Released 9 mos ago (8/16/2011 UTC) at Turnhout, Antwerpen / Anvers Belgium CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Once I got into this book, I just couldn’t put it down, not even when I’d better slept ☺ I was just so curious on how it would evolved and I kind of ‘timetravelled’ into these characters’ set / time / story. Strange thing is that it took me about 1,5 week to get through the first two chapters, because they didn’t interest me in the least. I just had to keep motivating myself to pick it up. There could have been even more ‘real’ 80’s references in it to double the fun for me, but it was well-done as it was. Being an 80’s AND chiclit geek, (stress on geek though) , I just HAD to read this. I can recommend it ☺

Journal Entry 11 by Minerva101 at Calgary, Alberta Canada on Tuesday, September 27, 2011
oops - I forgot to journal when this book arrived last week - sorry... Anyways - this book is fluff - it is also adorable and funny! I totally enjoyed it! I spent my prime teen years in the 80`s and was 17 years old in 1987 which is the year this book plays out. I can totally empathize with the main character, Jenna, who was ga-ga over a fictional pop star called Tommy Seer. I, myself, was ga-ga over Simon Le Bon ;-) Unfortunately I have never travelled through time and Simon still doesn`t know what he`s missing (evil grin) Thank you for sharing this fun and romantic gem, AgnesXNitt! I am so glad I got to read this! I am pm-ing lauraloo for her mailing addy...
