"Authentic patterns from India's rich and ancient design heritage. Intricate and inventive, these full-page designs are drawn from the vibrant patterns that have adorned Indian clothing and decorative objects for centuries. Motifs include birds and animals, folkloric characters, abstract florals, paisley patterns and other bold designs. Colorists of all ages will thrill to the challenge of bringing these black-and-white patterns to vivid life."

Happy colouring!

Journal Entry 4 by hakkalina at Budapest, Pest Hungary on Tuesday, April 5, 2011
Thank you ApoloniaX! The book is arrived!! :))I am astonished... these are so beautiful, very detailed designs. Which 2 do I choose??? It will be a difficult decision....

Update: 2011.04.28.
The book will continue its travelling next week! The 23rd design has already been colored by me, it was a love at the first sight. I am still thinkiing on the another one... which one? The 4th? 6th? 19th? 26th? or 27th?

19th :))

It is time to go on... The book is travelling to its next reader!
Thanks for sharing this beautiful book with me. I really enjoyed my time, I am so curious at others' works :)))

This book is gorgeous, thankyou so much for sharing it.
It's very different from the sort of thing I normally colour in (kids book in chunky wax crayon!) so I hope i can do it justice. I've already decided which two designs I'll do :)

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

I am so sorry to have had this longer than I ought to already! I spent a really lovely evening colouring my favourite design a few days back - I choose it because it reminded me of my recent holiday out there - elephants and busyness and colour!
But I know I will not have time to do another for a little while, with my big end of year exam and coursework and a lot of other projects all coming to a head soon, so I think it best to send this on now.
i can't wait to see what everyone else chooses and how they colour them - the designs are so beautiful

The book arrived safely today. Wow, these are gorgeous! I will try my very hardest to stay within the lines..

Arrived about half an hour ago, and I've already picked my two pages xD

Journal Entry 11 by rem_BGQ-488500 at Birchington, Kent United Kingdom on Thursday, June 23, 2011
Ah, such a gorgeous book! I loved all the designs, but two caught my eye immediately and I knew I had to do them.

I've completed my first one, which took me at least a couple of hours, and I'm about 1/3 through my second (which is probably going to take me longer). There's something relaxing about colouring...

I've PMed KiwiinEngland for her(?) address so I'll be posting it off as soon as I've finished my second page.

I did notice that at least one of the coloured pages has rubbed off onto the opposite uncoloured page, so I will be sealing mine with artist's fixative (luckily I have some!). I will air it well before it gets posted off, but I apologise in advance for any residual smell - it will fade! =]

If any previous colourists want me to seal their pages too, feel free to poke me via PM. I'm quite happy to do it.

Journal Entry 13 by kiwiinengland at Dublin, Co. Dublin Ireland on Monday, July 18, 2011
And the book arrived this morning, along with 36 coloured pencils which are the ideal size to bring to life these intricate drawings.

Thanks for sending it on Lemon-crisis, and for ApoloniaX for starting the ring.

Journal Entry 14 by kiwiinengland at Dublin, Co. Dublin Ireland on Monday, July 25, 2011
I did enjoy picking two pictures to try and bring to life...I must admit my colouring in skills are not as good as some peoples. But I had fun doing it so I figure that's what counts.

I'm going to send these on with the little pencils, as they were the perfect size for some of the detailed designs.

The book arrived today with the cute little pencils, thank you! I've leafed it through twice already and have pretty much decided on the two designs I'm going to do. I hope I'll be able to start this weekend :)

Journal Entry 17 by Annimanni at Espoo, Uusimaa / Nyland Finland on Monday, August 29, 2011
Update: I finally managed to find time to colour in one design yesterday :) I'll try to do the second one this week before passing the book on to kasenka. Sorry for taking so long! I changed jobs three weeks ago and while I'm very happy and excited about it, the change has sapped all excess energy out of me.

Sorry for holding this such a long time! The book is ready to leave, but I won't be able to send it before Saturday.

It has been really funny to do this :) Thank you ApoloniaX for this chance!

EDIT: Bloedengel asked to be skipped, so I'll contact the next reader ;)

thank you!
these are wonderful pictures!

Journal Entry 25 by Releanna at Wien Bezirk 23 - Liesing, Wien Austria on Thursday, March 1, 2012
I just finished colouring my 2nd picture. I really loved this experience, the patterns are really beautiful, it was also interesting to read where all these patterns come from, and of course to see what all the other participants did - there are lots of artists among BCers.
I just PMed ghanesha so that this beautiful book can travel on.

Thanks Releanna ,what a gorgeous book ...I like indian styl I like indien...I am Ganesh ;-)

Releanna yes we see us in Dublin or in Berlin soon !

Journal Entry 29 by Oedde at Kassel, Hessen Germany on Sunday, April 1, 2012
The book has arrived in Kassel and is safe for the moment with Pommesfee. I'll be arriving there in a few days for my Easter holidays, and I'm really looking forward to spending some time drawing and looking at the others' drawings. Although I used to paint and draw quite a lot I practically stopped years ago, and I keep hoping to get back into it...

Journal Entry 30 by Oedde at Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania and Partium Romania on Saturday, April 28, 2012
I ended up taking the book back to Cluj with me because I didn't finish even one drawing in Kassel. It takes a lot more time than I anticipated :) That's fine though. I'm now finishing up the first one, which is the drawing on page 2, as I'm listening to an audio book. The second one will follow suit.

Journal Entry 31 by Oedde at Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania and Partium Romania on Monday, May 14, 2012
I'm sorry I haven't sent this along yet despite having grovalskii's address: After my last journal entry I started the second drawing but I haven't been able to find the time to finish it (I'm about halfway). I want to though, so please bear with me just a little longer. This week I most probably won't have time to draw, but next week!!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

It really bugs me but I haven't finished the second drawing. I have to send the book on now because I'm going on vacation and don't want to stall the ring any longer. So grovalskii, ApoloniaX, and whoever else will get to draw in this book are invited to finish 'my' second drawing, the one on the first page. Hope this is the best solution for everyone.

Journal Entry 33 by grovalskii at Zehlendorf, Berlin Germany on Thursday, June 7, 2012
Wow, that was quick! Only 5 days from Romania to Germany! The book arrived today, along with the pencils. Once again the older half of denglish will help me with the coloring. As a matter of fact, she already started. :-) This will be fun. I love the time my daughter and I get to spend together coloring.

There are still five pages left to colour in, so I'll send it off as a little surprise for somebody who might enjoy it.
Feel free to keep it or pass it on to another BCer...

Journal Entry 36 by wingminesaynwing at Huron, Ohio USA on Monday, November 26, 2012
What an awesome surprise! All these beautiful Indian designs colored in (and a few left to color, too). Thanks ApoloniaX for the coloring book and The Color of Love. Will color and read both respectively. Not sure if I will send on or keep to myself at this point, but very excited--thanks again!
