This is the first of a projected detective series set in Pune, India, and featuring a smart and sassy lady PI named Sonia Samarth, who uses Vedic Astrology, deductive reasoning, and understanding of human nature to solve her cases.

The novel has a rich and sensuous sense of place, the characters a engaging, and the stories offer a delightful diversion.

I am also offering the second novel, The Astral Alibi (http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/9725181/), and hope the two can travel together. There have not been any moreadditions to this promising series, unfortunately.

I expect I shall ~~ I love mysteries set in far-away places, and this sounds like great fun :) Thank you so much for sending not only this, but also book 2 of the series ~

This was fun :) It reminded me of an Indian Precious Ramotswe, tone, I think. This did read much more as a series of (very) short stories than a novel; that was somewhat rectified in the second book. A learning curve ? Anyway, this was light and fun and set in an exotic locale~ so hey, if there are more to come, I'll happily read them as well.

I'm reserving this for btg's mystery vbb, and as both books were sent to me together, I shall pass them on that way as well.
