Journal Entry 8 by TomHl at Pewaukee, Wisconsin USA on Friday, May 06, 2011

The box has arrived here today, the day before my birthday! The photo shows it sitting on the leopold bench in my front yard, before I opened it. After opening it, I was excited to see so many books in it. I counted through them, and found that I have previously read about half. But there are plenty of others to choose from, so this is definitely going to be fun. Thanks to Erishkigal for launching, and to 4thEstate for sending it on to me.

Journal Entry 34 by Erishkigal at Salt Lake City, Utah USA on Saturday, November 19, 2011
THANK YOU ALL!!!! The box has arrived home! It came just before I went in to the theater last night, and so when I made it home, I enjoyed reading the journal while I drank tea and unwound (that was in in the wee hours of this morning. What fun to read and get to know a little about each of you! Tom, several have already asked about a second round, so we'll give it a few months then go again, and then you will be able to read all those that wrote after you ;-) The books look to be quite the collection. As judygreeneyes mentioned, there are mostly older books, which means I've read quite a few of them. But there are old ones I've never heard of ~and hope turn out to be undiscovered gems!~~ and some that made me smile when I saw them, that I will definitely reread, despite my towering tbr (The Martian Chronicles!!!). And then there is the delighted surprise of books like John Varley's "Mammoth." I've loved his writing since Titan began the Gaian Trilogy, and this is totally unknown to me :-) Life is a bit frantic here (the only night we're not doing the show, I'm going to an inipi), so I may not get a chance to start journaling individual books till next weekend. And thanks to whoever included the BOOK in many languages bookmark~~perfect!

The books I took from the box were: The Family Tree by Sheri S. Journal Entry 55 by hyphen8 at Honolulu, Hawaii USA on Thursday, March 14, 2013

The hot pink journal is here! Boy, I was sure long-winded last time. :p Including the journal, the box has 32 books in it - I'm trying to think of something nice I can do for my mail carrier to say thank you for lugging all the bookboxes I've been getting recently! Thanks for including me - it looks like I'm going to have to make some tough decisions since there are lots of goodies in there. I'll get the box moving again as soon as I can. Almost forgot: here's a picture of the cute bookmarks that were included in the box - I love the superpower version.

After nearly two years of travel, this bookbox has returned to me for its second visit. Here is a photo of the 25 SF books plus 1 hot pink journal on the same leopold bench as last time. Clearly, from the background, you can know that they are no longer in Hawaii.

So, today I took my receipt to the post office where the bookbox was mailed on 10-Apr-2013, and they looked it up in their system. They told me the box was delivered on 15-Apr-2013 at 1:15pm.
