Synopsis:

Do cats have healing powers?

Do they have a sixth sense?

Do they really know when someone is about to die?

Psychic Cats is a collection of unexplained and heartwarming true stories that demonstrate the remarkable psychic powers of cats.

Angel cats that have refused to let death part them from their human companions, cats who have saved lives, cats who have helped their owners find love... This book confirms that our whiskered friends are divine messengers of comfort with precognitive abilities.

Cat-loving spiritualist Theresa Cheung shows that the sixth sense in cats is well and truly alive, and that they have the ability to touch our hearts long after they have purred their last.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I enjoyed reading all the stories about the cats, as did my mum, the style of writing just drew me in page after page. It definitely makes me want to own and be owned by another cat in the future but not just yet.

I dedicate this bookray to my cat Lisa 28.5.1990 - 11.6.2009. See picture at the back of the book. Feel free to tell me about your cats.

Please journal 3 times; 1. when you receive this book, 2. your review when you've finished reading it and 3. when you send it on to the next person in the ray.

Received this morning! Thank you for organizing this ray, Ythan. :)
Love the photo of Lisa inside the back cover. She was a beautiful cat.

I'm halfway through my previous bookray book, so I'll be starting this one shortly.
Distracting me while I read will be my little black devil, Mimi. ;)

Journal Entry 4 by vedranaster at Zagreb: Donji grad (city centre), Zagreb City Croatia on Sunday, April 24, 2011

A touching book. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

And while I found the author's text a bit repetitive and sometimes unnecessary, the stories collected from pet owners from all around the world were very nice and interesting, and they made me think of all the cats I have owned in my lifetime. Or better said, of all the cats who have owned ME in my lifetime. :)

Mimi, our current owner, is a little black sweetheart devil. :) She chose us in November 2009, on a Friday 13th -- a very fitting date for a black kitty *grin* -- about 6 months after the passing of our previous kitty, our beloved Kuki, and we've been enjoying the wonder and love of this independent creature ever since. She's very intelligent, a quick learner and great at communicating her needs. Part of our communication is knowing to read her body language and understand the different kinds of sounds she makes, but I'd say that part of it is definitely slightly psychic. :)

Thank you for sharing this book, Ythan!
It'll be on it's way to 727 on Tuesday, as the Post Office is not open tomorrow.

sorry, but I simply didn't like this. didn't manage to make myself to finish it. I agree that for true cat lovers and/or cat owners this book would be amazing, but somehow I really didn't like the biased start from the author's point of view. it just wasn't convincing enough, thus I decided not to read the further stories either.

should be sending to VictoriaWagtail this or next week.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

I so enjoyed this book! I have had many cats over the years and always knew that they were tuned to my mood, my ailments and that they were a little psychic. Hubby tells me he doesn't even know we have cats until a few minutes before I turn into the driveway, when they all run to the door to welcome me home.

I've had a couple of angel cats who let me know they have crossed over and one came in a flash to say goodbye. I know these stories are possible and it was a very touching read for me....to know others have experienced similar things.

Lisa was a beautiful kitty. Thanks for sharing her photo with us.

Thank you for sharing this with me. Now off to the post office to send to whiskeyjane ~ I know you will love this read. Many purrs.

Although currently not a cat owner, I have had many cats throughout the years. I could relate to some of the stories written about. I believe both cats and dogs have a sixth sense. This book arrived in the mail the very day we had to put our dog down. Coincidence?! Reading these stories helped me in my grief (even though it was a dog not a cat). For the first time in over 36 years, my husband and I find ourselves without a cat or dog.

Journal Entry 29 by wingAppelsiiniwing at Lempäälä, Pirkanmaa / Birkaland Finland on Wednesday, August 29, 2012
Phew! I made it! I read this one! It really was hard for me to finish this book, although I am a 100% cat person I found some of the stories quite plain and I must say that the writer could have spared some of her thoughts and not adding those after every story :P Same things were told over and over again!

Some stories were really nice and enjoyed reading those but some were just stories about normal cat life. Or then I have had extrordinary cats all my life; they all woke me up in morning, they all came were waiting by the door when I came home. What I found really disturbing were these stories about cat saving somebodys life; in the end of quite many of these stories there was a line: "Now Cat is a full member of our family." WFT? What s/he was before? Just some creature hanging with your family? o_O

Most of the stories were nice to read, it was the author part which made this book so hard to read! :) I also have had a special cat in my life, Tara (1993-2004, Korat, in the pic). She was just amazing. Now I have a Cornish Rex, a Sphynx and just a Normal House Cat, but they haven't shown any psychic powers. Maybe later when they get a bit older... and wiser... ;)

The book is here with me; thanks, PrincessRainbow for passing it on, and for taking the time to write a lovely "cat card" to me.
Thanks, Ythan, for sharing this book, as well as a picture of your own Lisa, this makes it extra special.
Right now there is no special cat in my life, though there have been some... and there will probably be more in the future.
As I am last in the bookray, and this book should definitely keep on moving, I will bump the thread for more participants, so that I have someone to send it to when I finish reading it. :)

Edited to add I also received a lovely cat magnet, which is already occupying a place on my fridge door. Thank you!!

2) Carmendoran (Switzerland/UK)
I will post this and ask for Minesayn's address now.
Thanks for sharing! And let's keep this book moving on! :)

Journal Entry 35 by wingBookworm-ladywing at Madrid, Madrid Spain on Wednesday, March 20, 2013
"Kittens are angels with whiskers." (Author unknown)

"They may not be angels in the traditional sense, but with their empathy, patience, devotion and unconditional love, cats sound like a lot like angels to me. Like angels, they simply love us and watch over us in this life and the next."

This is a lovely account of cat stories, joined together with the writer's (see pic) own account of her cats Crystal (childhood) and Max and Merlin (current).
Most stories are positive, and leave nice memories.
Some of the "ghost cat" stories are really impressive!
And there are beautiful quotes at the beginning of each chaper, such as the one I have copied above.
Thanks for sharing, Ythan and Ravencat; the bookray continues.
