The cover alone is a feast for the eyes ..

Riley has always wanted to be a Demon Trapper like her father, and she's already following in his footsteps as one of the best. But it's tough being the only girl in an all-guy world, especially when three of those guys start making her life more complicated: Simon, the angelic apprentice who has heaven on his side; Beck, the tough trapper who thinks he's God's gift, and Ori, the strikingly sexy stranger who keeps turning up to save her ass. One thing's for sure - if she doesn't keep her wits about her there'll be hell to pay...

9 out of 10

This book was calling to me since I brough it home :-) So I gave in and started to read it yesterday ...
I absolutely blazed through Demon Trapper's Daughter. From the first word to the last, I was completely hooked. First off, Riley is an excellent character. She feels like an honest, believable protagonist that readers can easily identify with and will instantly want to take her side and cheer her on to victory. Most importantly, Riley is not portrayed as being perfect, which is a huge help for readers and make her easy to symphathize and want to root for.
Then there's the gritty, dark world filled with all kinds of quirky, fascinating creatures. Debut author Jana Oliver has an excellent job of being her world with exquisite details that capture unique characters, creatures and settings. In fact, the entire mythos of the world itself, as well as of the Demon Trapper's Guild is very well constructed and feel solid. As I read on, I only wanted to learn more about it.
But most importantly it is a well-paced action-packed read that will immediately capture readers and refuse to let them go. I was so wrapped up in Riley and her world that as soon as I put the book down, I wanted to know when the next one was due out :-)
Urban fantasy is a genre that's rich but crowded, it's difficult to read one that feels fresh, enticing, dangerous, and deliciously familiar all at once...
