Herchelle I guess we know by now that I wasn't the winner but the decoy for this draw. But I certainly felt like a winner as I looked through the package that you sent me.
I loved everything but especially the hand written letter. This is so rare in this day of emails, instant messages and skype. If you ever get out to British Columbia I would enjoy to make you a cup of tea, or pour you a glass of wine.

Thank you Herchelle, for sending me this amusing book. I had lots of laughs and smiles as I read it. I too, enjoyed the chapter where Dave cooks the Christmas turkey. imagine using a hair dryer and an electric blanket to thaw out the turkey.
I really like finding books written by a Canadian author to read. Thanks so much.

I loved this book. It was so funny. I laughed at so many of the funny stories, but I also found myself identifying with Dave's blunders that wreak havoc. Who hasn't inadvertently done something disastrous as a child without realizing that there could be negative consequences? I was glad to read about mistakes that Dave makes from which he miraculously escapes reaping drastic consequences (the yeast episode). There were also wrong choices that Dave made that caused him to be punished like a little boy (the frog episode). However, Dave behaved like a man and his son remembers it as a postive episode. I was happy to read about the potentially disastrous family week at the cabin turning out to be a good time, and we can all identify with the road trip from hell.
So funny, I look forward to reading more by this author.

What a wonderful, happy book. It is quietly funny, about the crazy things that happen in a somewhat normal life. I'll have to look for more of McLean's books!
