Another very entertaining book by Bill Bryson. I am slowly working my way through everything he has written and I have loved them all so far.
Thanks again waderwoman for giving it to me.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
I've searched the wishlists and decided to send this book to dark-draco as a surprise RABCK.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
Received yesterday - thank you so much. I really enjoy Bryson's books and this is one that I have never read.
When I first started reading this book, I was fully expecting to be disappointed - I like Bryson's travelogues, those that have a story or a theme running through them, and as I read a little voice in my head kept saying - 'oh, newspaper columns - not the same - not as good - Aggghhhh!'. But as soon as I'd read one column, I'd want to move to the next, and the next, and the next - before I knew it, I'd read half the book and the bath had gone cold!
There were some laugh out loud pieces - the one on filling in your tax form was probably my favourite and had me snorting at odd moments. Bryson tries to give you an insight into the American mind and what happens is a great mix of gentle satire, brilliant insights and inane hilarity. Probably not my favourite Bryson book, but still a great read.
