This is the first book I have read by Sharon Shinn - it made want to read more!
From the cover of the book:
"Explores the complex struggles of decent people caught in a web of deceit an dtreachery as they discover the commen ground that underlies superficial differences.. an elegant and suspenseful tale."

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I will bring this book to the meet up at La Baguette today.
How could I pass it up when it was described by
severalt bookcrossers as one of their favorte sf-writers.
High expectations!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was sick when I read it, so it might have influenced my reading, but the truth is that I found this book wee simple. The patriarchy versus the matriarchy. Indigo versus golden. Men versus women. Town versus country. Rich versus poor. Etc etc.
It seems that all the race, gender and money problems man have ever struggled with was rolled up into this golden-indigo problem.
Makes it predictable and drab.
On a good note Sharon Shinn knows how to write and I was entertained, but more despite the poloarization than because of it. AND - I am a very inexperienced sf-reader, that can also have something to do with it.
