After all the heavy reading I've been doing this summer (John Irving, Anne Siddons, Iain Pears) this light combination of mystery, romance and history was just the ticket to a fun and relaxing couple of days. Not bogged down in detail, Barbara Michaels gives us a firey redhead, a black Scot, a spoiled invalid daughter, suiters, ladies and villans galore. You route for this heroine the way you cheer on your favorite team at a sporting event. Enjoy!!

On a bench near 9th Street and the boardwalk. It will be near the volleyball nets. I don't know why I keep releasing books, here. No one ever registers them. But they are always gone from the bench by the end of the day! Happy reading.
