Journal Entry 3 by havfaith from Mead, Washington USA on Tuesday, September 23, 2003

Just received from ButtonBright - Thanks! Cool postcard too. I've actually been to Cape Hatteras! *The sea has played a major role in the shaping of the North Carolina Outer Banks. More than 500 ships of many nations have foundered along the Outer Banks earning this area the reputation as the "Graveyard of the Atlantic." Lighthouses were erected to help prevent these shipwrecks along the coastal shoals.
