Just had a birthday and I got $300 worth of gift certificates to bookstores. So this is in my HUGE TBR pile. From the back of the book:

When Anna Koval starts posting partially fabricated stories about her life in Austin on the Internet, she hardly imagines anyone besides her friend Dale is going to read them. Teaching herself HTML just seemed like a creative way to kill time at her library job -- and Dale's been bugging her to start writing again since her breakup with Ian over a year ago. So it's really not a big deal if the "Anna K" persona in Anna's online journal has a fabulous boyfriend named Ian. It's not like the real Ian will ever find out about it.

Almost instantly Anna K starts getting e-mail from adoring fans who read her daily postings religiously. One devotee, Tess, seems intent on becoming Anna K's reali-life best friend, and another, a male admirer who goes by the name of "LDobler," sounds like he's want to date Anna K if she didn't already have a boyfriend. Meanwhile, the read Anna can't help but wonder if her newfound fans like her or the alter ego she's created. It's only a matter of time before fact and fiction collide and force Anna to decide not only who she wants to be with, but who she wants to be.

Man, this book is hilarious. At first, I was a little worried. The introduction of Dale concerned me a bit ... why is it such a tired, overplayed chick-lit staple that the heroin have a gay best friend? Why???? Ugh. There aren't enough gay men in the world to make this realistic. Seriously.

However. Got over that really fast. Dale's gay-ness took a backseat, and Anna K stole the show. Freaking hilarious. Another one that had me laughing out loud, getting weird looks on public transportation. I would certainly be a follower of Anna K's site, were it a real one.

I have PM'd Manky to pass the book on, will mail once I have an address.
