On BookCrossing you may choose to remain anonymous or join (it's free). If you join, you’ll be alerted by e-mail each time someone makes another journal entry for this specific copy of this book (other copies of the book are travelling with their own ID number. Every copy of every book has a unique ID). It’s all confidential (you’re known only by your screen name and no one is ever given your e-mail address) and spam-free.

Enjoy!!!
Arrived today on my birthday! Thanks very much jaynereader!
Very lyrical language, even though it is a translation. I can't imagine what it must be like to read in the original. However, I didn't really get the impression of love at all, between any of the characters. The main love story was more a pathological obsession than love. And Fermina's motivations were never really that clear to me. She didn't seem interested in Florentino at all and yet eventually agreed to marry him, then rejected him without any explanation whatsoever. She didn't appear to be interested in Urbino either, and yet out of the blue she married him. I don't think the author really understands women and knows how to write female characters, and just presents them as unfathomable creatures whose motivations no man can understand. I felt that way about his other books too. Even so, a well written and interesting book.
