I recently read and loved Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. Jodez kindly released some more Pullman books into the wild - but cunningly hid them to increase my chance of finding them when hunting.
I found all three books in their zip lock bags on the park wall at about 7pm tonight, as I came home from work. I'm new to BookCrossing and this this my first successful hunt so it's very exciting! I had a big smile on my face all the way home.
I fully intend to read the books and then release them. They look more like children's books than the His Dark Materials trilogy but I don't have a problem with that as long as they're good!

I normally love Philip Pullman's stuff but I couldn't get into this. It's a slapstick gothic thriller and I think it would be a fun but forgettable read for a 10-year-old. The plot is fairly predictable and the characters are cardboard cut-outs. It was good enough to finish but I didn't get much out of it. Fragranttruth has bowed out of this bookray, so it's on to BookFrog.

Will read this weekend so can give to i-am-a-rock on Tuesday at the bookcrossing meetup.
Thanks fire-dragon for bringing it to the mini-meetup at GoGo today.

I 'caught' this as it was very gracefully handed to me by Fire-Dragon at the Sydney Meetup as part of a Bookray - Thanks for organising that!
I have to agree with your rating of the book though. I expected more... Was reading somewhat in parallel with Neil Gaiman's Coraline... Which I enjoyed far more!
But now it is about to be packaged up to go to KarenDawn

Book arrived today. Thank you! I've put this on top of my TBR stack.
Thank you, i-am-a-rock, for the wonderful stamps that you used to send this.
Interestingly, there's a sticker on the package saying "Delayed for compliance with Aviation Security Regulations." I wonder what happened to it.
Update 11/16/03: Just started reading this one today.

Finished the book this morning. Yes, the things that happened in the book were very predictable, but it was still a lot of fun to read.
Looks like this one is going to become another mini-ray.
