Thank you, WBN! I'm delighted to be a Giver for the first World Book Night! You have given me a great opportunity to share one of my favourite books. I came across C J Samson when a friend gave me a copy of Revelation, one of the later books in the series. I absolutely loved it, and have since read "Dissolution" and found it just as good! Dissolution is the first in the series, and I am looking forward to reading the rest.C J Samsom brings the past to life, but this isn't a history book. It's a thrilling, page-turning mystery which I couldn't put down once I'd started it.Thanks again, WBN! I'm grateful for this opportunity to give away 48 copies to new readers - they go out with my strongest recommendation!

I found this book to be extremely hard to put down. Matthew Sharlake, lawyer and long time supporter of Reform, has been sent by Cromwell to uncover the truth behind the dark happenings at Scarnsea. But investgation soon forces Shardlake to question everything that he hears, and everything that he intrinsically believes.......
A fabulous read, which I thoroughly recommend. Thank you again Deltic for giving me the opportunity to read this book. I will be passing on to another bookcrosser shortly. Meanwhile I am on the look out fpr more of CJ Sansom! :)

This isn't generally a period I am interested in and after Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies, I wasn't really in a hurry to read something set in this period again thanks to Hilary Mantel. However, this is something quite different. In fact he is really quite blunt in his descriptions and language. The author gives an excellent portrayal of the corruption that abounded in England during the reign of Henry VIII and quite repulsive descriptive passages of 16th Century England. I did wonder if it was going to be a bit long-winded, maybe the ending could have been tied up a little quicker but I'm ready to start on book 2.
