I'm very glad that this wasn't my first Discworld book (that was Mort, which I loved). I don't know how eager I would now be to read others had it been. It took me quite a while to get through this relatively short book because I just didn't feel like picking it up or reading large chunks of it. None of this is to say that it was a bad book. It just didn't live up to my Discworld expectations.

I would recomend this book for anyone who has enjoyed hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. Has a very nice blending of fantasy with twisted (il)logical humor. Also reminds me in the faintest of ways of Fred Saberhagens Book of Swords series.
