Lovely book, and it is so fine to go back and read it now, after all the intervening Peabody & Emerson books. I was happy to revisit the story of their first meeting and early romance, and the romance of Walter and Evelyn.
I am going to be rereading all the Amelia Peabodys in order and then sending them to JennyO. If anyone else would like them after us please Pm one of us.

Love this book (the first of Peters' Amelia Peabody series). Reminds me of Raiders of the Lost Ark, but more literary, if you will. I'm looking forward to reading the parts of the series I've not read yet, and will pass the books on as a set once I've finished them all.
Yay! Now I can get a handle on the series, which I started reading a few months back on book 20-something LOL. Looks Like I have 1,2, and 5 in this mailing, and I'll keep them together as I finish them, so I guess PM either me or JennyO to get in line for this series.
Thank you to JennyO for allaying my read-in-order neurosis.
