From the back cover:

"Now in his thirties, Adrian's still worrying: Can he be a good father? Is Viagra cheating? Why won't the BBC produce 'The White Van', his serial killer comedy?

Will he find the fulfilment he seeks as celebrity offal chef, single parent and celibate novelist? Is there a place for Adrian Mole in Blair's Brave New Britain?"

It's been a while since I read this, so I don't remember it too well...I think this was even a little funnier than the previous Adrian Mole book (The Wilderness years). Nice, entertaining, not too serious reading.

Promised to pikapolonica.

Another Adrian Mole book on my bookshelf... Thank you very much, Tintti! Also thank you for the card and the pikapolonica bookmark - it's lovely, that was a wonderful surprise. :)

Update (18th Sept): Adrian is now 30, a single father of two boys, has a horrible teenage sister Rosie, a New Dog and his family is more disfunctional than ever, getting involved with Pandora's family. Adrian himself becomes a TV-chef celebrity and tries to immitate Bridget Jones style (which he eventually finds boring and continues his diary in his own eloquent style).

This book is reserved for a bookcrosser who is interested in AM series.

And the book is now back in Finland. Maybe it'll travel outside the Nordic countries in the future... Thank you, pikapolonica!

I re-read The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4 seven years ago and still liked that book. Unfortunately I can't say the same about grown-up Adrian's diary. Most of the time I found him infuriatingly annoying. (And yes, I'm aware that young Adrian was often like that too.) Of course there were some funny moments, but all in all... nope, I don't think I'm going to read the rest of these books.

I visited the BC shelf in Pikku-Peikko today while purchasing some buns to take home. I though to pick up a book in English to continue its travels abroad with me and this was my choice. I am not a fan of Adrian Mole myself but let's see if somebody in southern Europe would be happy to find this book!
