Eva Moves the Furniture: A Novel
2 journalers for this copy...
Once I started this book I could not put it down, and finished it in a single day. This is a wonderful story about the connections of family in life and death.
Eva lost her mother at birth, and was raised by her father and maiden aunt. She also has the "Companions", a girl and a woman who appear and disappear mysteriously from her life, and who manipulate Eva's world to help (or hinder?) her.
The hope that Eva will find happiness, and the need to discover just who or what the Companions are, will keep you turning the pages.

Wow! I just finished this book and, like KASA, found it quite difficult to put down. I wasn't able to finish it last night because of the big blackout (I tried reading a bit by candlelight, but was afraid of starting a fire!), but stayed home this morning to find out the conclusion to this engaging tale.
I found it so easy to become wrapped up in this story - the characters seemed so real (even "the companions"), and the writing made the scenery and events just come alive. I enjoyed this book for so many reasons - it really made me think about choices, coincidences, the future and the past, yet it wasn't "heavy" enough to prevent it from being an enjoyable summer read.
I can't remember the last book I enjoyed this much - probably Jane Urquhart's Away which has some similar tones.

Well I'm sad to say it looks like this wonderful little book is MIA. It has been over a month since I mailed it to symphonicca and there is still no sign of it. Good ol' Canada Post!

Alright, we've *FINALLY* rounded up a replacement book. We're giving it a separate BCID just in case the first one magically appears.
Eva #2 will continue the journey from here.

The original book never did reappear. Thanks to Symphonica and Jenny-Lou-Who for replacing the book and sending it to complete it's ring.
It was rather odd, sending out a paperback and getting a hardcover back. ;)
