I went to see the movie 127 Hours based on the book. It was absolutely great and I decided that I want to read the book too. This is the movie cover edition and it also contains photos of Ralston's accident, which make the story horrifyingly real.

Thanks to bookwormess for this new ring! Can't wait to get started. I'll try to read it quick and not faint, like some people in Ralston's movie and lecture audience did.

Interesting read! The film and the book were sufficiently different to make them both worthwhile. The book is full of spirit - not just another adventure story, but a peek into the mind of an exceptionally gutsy person. Or, you could also say, an accident waiting to happen, since one of Ralston's goals was to peak all U.S. 14 000-feet mountains alone and in winter - a challenge nobody had ever tried and one that Ralston continued even after his accident.

I have to give up on this, as I don't seem to find any time for reading the book. I've read about a third now and don't really feel interested enough to keep on going.

Oh noes, I still have this book! I have been a terrible bookcrosser, stalling rings and such...

I haven't managed to read this. I am in the middle of the book, but haven't touched it for months, so probably I am not going to finish it. So, back to bookwormess!

Thanks, polenka, the book arrived yesterday! And don't worry about the delay, I know what it's like to be too busy to remember everything. I wasn't worried, I knew it would travel to me someday. :)
