I bought this at the Deventer book market to read, because the title sounded familiar (that's because a movie was made after the book, with Whitney Houston I believe, haven't seen it though).

From the back: "Waiting to Exhale, Terry McMillan's ground-breaking bestseller, is a raw, powerful and triumphantly frank portrait of four black women who share the concerns, small as well as large, of women everywhere: money, kids, ageing parents, clothes, hair, work, weight, men and sex. Savannah, Bernadine, Gloria and Robin are four friends who lean on each other, holding their breath, waiting for love..."

Nice book to read, can be categorized as chicklit I guess, but nothing very special.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

During the BC convention 2010 in Amsterdam.

I found this book on the table at the convention and I knew I had read a book by this author which I liked but wasn't sure if it was this one or not. Read the first page and it did not ring a bell so I took the gamble and decided to take this book with me. Well so glad I did cause this is not the one I've read. That was a Day Late and a Dollar short.
Thanks for sharing.

I've taken a break from bookcrossing cause so much was not working when the new site was launched.
Now i am trying to update and this is one of the books I've read:

Finished on May 11-2010

This book is a 3.5 and not a 3 but also definitely not a 4 stars book.
I liked the first half but during the second half I started to get bored. Not much happened and all the talk about men started to bore the hell out of me to be honest. I love books about women and their friendships so I thought this would be a great book for me which it was at first. I do remember I did watch the movie which i really liked and I think wad very different then this book.
Normally I hate reading a book once I've watched a movie but it was so long ago I hardly remembered the film. Thanks for sharing.
