I Shall Never Return Volume 4 (Yaoi) (Deux)
11 journalers for this copy...
I've been reading the first three volumes of this five-volume series via a bookbox, and was sufficiently intrigued to want to pick up the final two books so I could find out what happens to our heroes!
Later: This volume opens with our heroes pursuing their own paths - and it looks as though their romance may have run its course. A little later, the love-to-hate-him third party makes a blunt revelation to Ken about what's been going on - and Ken, who seems to have matured quite a bit after spending more time with his stepfather, takes it surprisingly well... leading to one of the most emotional scenes in the series. [I almost felt sorry for Mr. 3rd Wheel - almost {wry grin}.]
The two leads aren't the only ones who wind up facing some tangled relationships; Kazuyoshi meets a couple who have issues of their own. But there seems to be a strong theme of I Want My Beloved To Be Happy running through this volume, and - so far - the lesson seems to be benefiting those who learn it...

I'm sending this set of five books out on a bookray (see the forum thread here); they'll be on their way to the first stop, with BCer BMVCOE in Maryland, today. (I'd like the last person on the list to offer the books in the forums again, but if there are no takers, the books can be released as the holder desires.) Hope future readers enjoy them!
The mailing order is in the journal entry of Volume One, here.

Caught in the mail from GoryDetails!
This installment seemed a little thin compared to the rest of the series, but watching Ken grow on his trip to India is well worth it.

You know, I wonder if it's just me, or do the characters on the cover not really resemble Ken and Ritsuro? They just don't really look the same to me. lol
And yet again, Ken becomes almost non-existant in the book. He makes, for the most part, cameo appearences. And I really started to wonder how they were ever going to work it out, unless the author intended to just unceremoniously throw them together like some great miracle at the very end....
On the flip side, I really start to take an interest in Kazuyoshi at this volume. He has a great personality at this point and, ironically, I think he's the best developed character in the whole series. I really started to care about his situation and I was getting really annoyed with the flippant attitude of Ritsuro. He really lost all my respect at this point and I was thinking to myself 'Kazuyoshi really deserves someone better than Ritsuro'. This is definitely one of those where I wished the author had done a spin off story where the focus because Kazuyoshi and his own love. (kind of like they did with "Tyrant in love". That was way better than the original story he was introduced in!)
Ok, well, this is on to the next reader of the bookring! :)

Just as things start to look better for Ken (being accepted and accepting his new family), Ritsuro has to mess things up by falling into bed withKazuyoshi. Perhaps Ken wasn't the only one who needed to grow up.
Sent off to Hawaii. Enjoy!

Received today with thanks. Life is a bit hectic at the moment but I'll get to these as soon as I can.
Ritsuro and Ken are both trying to grow up, but is the separation going to show them what they're missing or just drive them further apart?
Ritsuro & Ken are looking for new adventures, all the way on the other side of the country!
Book is here from Hawaii at record speedy. Probably won't be able to get to this series for a month or so though, life is rough, but hopefully Tsjara doesn't have to wait a whole year for it.
I agree about the cover: it most certainly look different. The nose and size of eyes. Maybe it was redrawn at a later date when the artist's style changed?

I think the reason why the guy in the cover doesn't look like Ritsuro is because it's not Ritsuro, it's Kazuyoshi. He's the one with thin slanted eyes, straight, long hair in front and flamboyant clothes. Ritsuro won't be wearing that ring. However I am not sure why Ken would be with him on this cover as they are love rivals at this point.
I still can't take Ritsuro's two-timing. Just hope that he's just confused with his newly found sexual preference and has not realized that having physical reaction is not the same as love. It feels like while Ken is growing up Ritsuro is regressing.

The books have safely arrived in the Netherlands. Thanks so much Azuki for sending them all the way from Hong Kong (and for the 3 extra wishlist books too!!)
Looking forward to read these, it's been a while since I have read any manga.
Thanks GoryDetails for organizing the bookray. :D

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
So Ken goes off to India with his stepfather J, and he seems to have grown up a lot.
Ritsuro managed to hurt Iwasaki/Kazuyoshi (he has started to grow on me and I felt bad for him) as it appears that Ken is still the one he wants. We see quite a lot of Moeko too in this volume.
(oh and I also think it is Ken and Kazuyoshi on the cover, though I don't know why.. maybe referring to their past?)
The books are on their way to okyrhoe. Enjoy! :)

Volumes 1-4 are traveling together to Belarus.
All four arrived today. Looking forward to reading them!
Some very nice close-ups here (I especially liked Moeko) and a hot sex-scene. And what a cliff-hanger!The main character, Ritsuro, is kind of lame.
