I've just read this in Finnish and liked it. It was different from the film - the famous "Life is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're gonna get" which has become sort of a classic phrase of Forrest wasn't there! Forrest as a character wasn't as likeable and vulnerable as the Forrest played by Tom Hanks, so no hankies were needed when reading this. There were more adventures than in the film and it made a good read.

Ihana kirja! Niin erilainen kuin elokuva, kuten yleensä. Paljon rikkaampi sisällöltään. Kirja jatkaa matkaa Jyväskylässä. :)

I found this yesterday at bar Sohwi in Jyväskylä while visiting a friend of mine. It made my day! \o/ It's now in Turku.

This was very different from the film and I must say I liked the film better (it is, after all, one of my favorite movies). For the most part this was entertaining enough, but towards the end things got too silly and I kinda lost interest.

Available at the Finnish bookcrossers' summer convention 2013. Happy reading!
I have seen this movie about 3 or 4 times or even more? Anyway. Having this great chance to read this book I will do it. Took this from Bookcrossing Summer Convention in Pori.

I just finished reading this book. And I have to say the movie was much better. The book was good though but at the end I almost lost interest because of this weirdness it was about. The spacetrip and stuff. No spoiling though. I leave this book to wait for the next meetup and next reader in my bookshelf.

Tämäkin vapautuu tänään. Hyvää matkaa kirja!!
Lievästi painostettuna suostuin ottamaan miitistä pöydälle jääneistä kasoista viisi kirjaa, kun löysin sellaisia, jotka sopivat joulukuun haasteteemaan... :D
I took the book home with me from the BC Xmas meet-up in Tampere. I've seen the movie several times, but haven't read the book. Yet. Thanks lii5a!

Okay, now I've read the book, too. It really is different from the movie but I refuse to put them in any order. The movie is a movie, and the book is a book, and that's it. Things won't happen the same way in both, and some things from the book are left out from the movie. The book, though, is entertaining enough once you get used to reading English by an idiot. Forrest's life is full of funny coincidences. :)

The next reader picked this book up from First Sentence VBB, enjoy!
Just received the book as part of the First Sentences VBB. Thanks a lot, mecu! It was a really big surprise to find out that the book I chose was "Forrest Gump" as I have already read it and seen the movie. I cannot believe I didn't recognize the first sentence! I must say, both the book and movie are not my cup of tea. Although the story convays a nice message, I was rather frustrated in the end. Anyway, I will release it soon enough for another eager reader.

I couldn't get into this actually! Made it to page 79 and gave up.
Maybe it will find a better reader on its next journey (':
