Messenger

Received from Sister No. 6 as a birthday gift in 2010.
A true sequel to both "The Giver" and "Gathering Blue," "Messenger" tells the story of Matty and Jonah and their lives in Village, the Utopian community they and many others found sanctuary in, whose existence is being threatened by outside forces no one quite understands. I cheered at the brief mention of Gabe, who was saved by Jonah at the end of "The Giver," and I was glad to know that Matty and Kira and their communities thrived in the six years between "Gathering Blue" and "Messenger." Lois Lowry says every good book should leave one wondering—the heartbreaking and abrupt end of this one certainly does.
I'm adding this book to the I Hate SF Bookbox, which is going to BCer AlterEgoZoe in Pennsylvania next. Hope everyone enjoys the selection!
Part of the giver quartet, and I haven't read this one or 'Son'. Looking forward to reading

EPIC. Got it from the Akron Reading Festival in Akron, Ohio USA! Awesome book. Will be going to a classmate in Jennings CLC. That is after my mom reads it...
