Los cuenistas que abordaron el tema poco común de los niños y los animales en la Revolución Mexicana, lo mismo que sus colegas novelistas, no proujeron sus obras pensando en lectores jóvenes o bien determinados. Sus narraciones conservan, no obstante, la sensibilidad y afinidad intimas con la infancia y la frescura de sus impresiones, no pocas veces harto conmovedoras.
