This is the story of Isabella of France and Edward II of England. Isabella was married to Edward at the age of 12 but Edwards tastes were unusual and they had a marriage of conflict. After approx 12 years of marriage Isabella travelled to France and with the backing of her brother Charles, the King of France she raised an army and funds and returned to England and forced her husband off the throne and replaced him with her son Edward III. A good story that moved along and was interesting.
Trivia notes: Isabella is the princess who appeared in the movie Braveheart and supposedly had the affair with William Wallace. While this is not proven it has long been suspected that her first born son Edward was not the son of her husband.

A Bit Slow To Start. Fantastic Description of the Opulence of the English Court and the clothes worn etc.
Very gripping towards to the end, but also feel as though the ending was written a little rushed and tied up too quickly (whether or not history is your strong point!).
Over all enjoyed this book.
Will be posting on to Dutch-book in the next week :)

Have finished it yesterday, just before midnight. I've enjoyed the book. it was not as captivating as Philippa Gregory's books, but am really glad that I've discovered this genre. Thanks bookstogive for introducing me to this genre. It will now be a genre that I will regularly read. If you have any recommendations as to what to read in this genre also, I would really appreciate it.
Also, sorry for keeping so long. This book will either today or tomorrow be on it's way ot Marijketje.

Not as good as Philippa Gregory. I found it hard to get into the story and it didn't read soothly. At the end it got a little better. But I did get some historical insides.
Will send it to VictoriaWagTail.
