This book is already on its way to minerva101!
This book arrived in the mailbox today -I was happy to see this one because I enjoy Montalbano so much! Thank you, eicuthbertson!
I will journal again once I have read it :)

There are plenty of books on Mt TBR that have been sitting there for a very long time that I probably should have read, but I just couldn't resist this one! And I am glad I didn't resist because this book was excellent!
I just love Montalbano - the dry humor, his flawed character - and I enjoyed the mystery quite a lot. The Mafia angle on this one was interesting. I also enjoy the cultural aspect of the Montalbano books very much. You get a feel of what Sicily might be like and how people live there. My only regret it that these books are so good they don't last long enough :(
I am not sure if I will reserve this for bookstogive's Mystery VBB or if I will take it to the next Calgary Bookcrossing meeting. Either way I will find a new reader for this wonderful book! Thank you for sharing eicuthbertson :)

I am taking this wonderful mystery to the Bookcrossing meeting today at the Joshua Tree Cafe to find a new reader :)
After the meetup I was in a funk, so I went to Purdy's for a chocolate hug, went home, made tea and picked up this book. I'm on page 65 and this story has put a smile on my face several times. Thanks Minerva101 *hug*
Inspector Montalbano is a difficult guy for me to understand. He seems to be intelligent but he relies on mystic dreams for breakthroughs, and I didn't understand the motives of the women in his life.
Since Minerva101 enjoys this series, and this is book is number 5 in the reading order, I am going to read a few of the earlier books to see if I can gain more insight into this character.

Book taken to the Calgary BC Meetup at the Joshua Tree Cafe today.
I picked this up at the May meeting. Sounds interesting - haven't read anything by this author before.
This police force has some wacky characters on it. You have to laugh in a few places. Enjoyed another one of this series. Sometimes you do jsut have to let your subcouncious work on a problem. I used to laugh that my husband should be paid for his sleep time as that is when he solved many of his hardest problems. Going to pass this on t0o my husband to read.
Taking this book to the July meeting at Joshua Tree Cafe.
Brought home some pretty great books from the August meet-up of Calgary BookCrossers.
Thanks a bunch!

Although this is a thin book, I struggled to keep reading. Maybe if it wasn't the first I'd read and part way through the series I would have "gotten" the characters.
I found the last 50 pages the most interesting and wish the crux of the mystery would have been unveiled earlier and that part of the plot more developed.

Taken to the October meet-up of the Calgary BookCrossers at the Joshua Tree Café.

Picked up at October's meeting. Adding to my really large TBR pile, better start reading...
It took me a little while to get into it but once I did I couldn't stop reading. The ending had a few twists that I didn't see and overall I really enjoyed it.

Safely in my hands
Like some others, I found it hard to get into...perhaps as it was book 5 in the series. I did find myself smirking at some of the comments, thoughts made.
The last chapter brought it all together....

An easy read with inspector montalbano solving a young Don Juan murder. Bringing back to the next reader to find out who diss it.
Picked up at the November meeting!
