The Caterer -- The Dish -- The Unsavory Killer -- Goldy takes a job as a live-in cook at a Country Club. I have several of the books in this series, but haven't read any of them yet, so no idea how good they are. But, hey, how can you go wrong if the book includes recipes for chocolate? Picked this one up on my first trip to The Book Thing of Baltimore.

I think this is my favorite of the series that I have read so far (I've read about 4 others, in no particular order). I found myself much better able to follow the story and finish it quickly -- in the past, I have struggled some because the world of catering is a little unfamiliar. One thing I do know is CHOCOLATE, so maybe that was it -- or maybe I have gotten used to Davidson's writing style.

The food part is fabulous and I could kid myself I would try some of these great dishes, but microwave popcorn has been the extent of my cooking adventures for some time now. The mystery part is also good and nicely done -- I was a bit surprised by whodunit, even after I figured out some of the howdunit and whydunit. And did I mention it is all about CHOCOLATE?!!

I am part of Team Top Hat in the BC Monopoly Challenge and this turn part of our assignment is to make a release which celebrates collecting all of the brown squares. Chocolate is a shade of brown -- and probably the best thing in the world to eat that is brown in color (beats mushrooms, that's for sure!). So, I will be releasing this book along with a large amount of chocolate at somewhere appropriate to the theme.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

This little book was released into the wide world today as part of Team Top Hat's turn at Book Crossing Monopoly. Since we have landed on all of the brown squares, we needed to do a release involving "brown." Chocolate is the best brown in the world, so Dying for Chocolate -- and a lot of different chocolate squares, kisses, and other good stuff -- were released at the food festival Taste of DC in front of the booth for the restaurant CoCo Sala, one specialty of which is macaroni and cheese topped with chocolate. Indeed, a release to die for!
