Tough Cookie (Goldy Culinary Mysteries, Book 9)
4 journalers for this copy...
Picked this one up on my first trip to The Book Thing of Baltimore.
Goldy is offered a temporary sting hosting a cooking show for PBS and jumps at the chance -- but then trouble ensues. Have several of the books in this series, but haven't read any of them yet, so can't give an assessment.

Will read this soon and then pass to MaryZee.
I found this installation of Goldy's adventures more compelling than the other one I've read. It was not as much of a page-turner as other mysteries, but still a good read, especially on the train. I like the main characters in the book and found that there was enough suspense as to whodunit, with two equally likely suspects, up til almost the end.
Will send this off in the mail to Mary Zee, who has been looking for it for some time, since she is reading the series in order.

Thanks so much for sending this to me 6og8! I really enjoyed talking with you at the convention and Kensington; looking forward to more fun at Gaithersburg in a few weeks. I'll try to move this on as soon as I can, but I have several to read before this one. Thanks again!
I always enjoy spending time in Colorado with Goldy. I first started reading this series years ago on a book spiral, but unfortunately that fell apart after just a few books. I held out hope of it continuing for a while after the originator came back once to restart some of the books. But unfortunately, she's been MIA now for some time. So I finally determined to read this series on my own. Thus my search for the books, and the reason that some of them (including this one) have another copy (or several) on my BC shelf that have since been sent on to other homes.
Although I wasn't sure who dunnit in this mystery, I did suspect what would be his ultimate demise. This story was a bit different, since Goldy's catering business has been closed down. According to the ending (and I'm hoping), we'll continue in the next book by getting back to her catering biz :)
Thanks for sending this to me 6of8! I'm not sure yet where this one will be going. I may reserve it for a vbb I'm in. 6of8, if you want to read the next several books (I have the next 4), just ask. I'm not one for reading these books back to back (too many other books clamoring for my attention), although the next one may get read soonishly since it's been on my stacks from another BCer for several years.
