1984 Avon paperback of the 1977 thriller. This was on my list of best past thrillers to read, when I bought this copy yesterday for 10 cents from the sale shelf at Dimond Library.

I can let this go after I read:
1953 The Bounty Hunters [read 2011]
1954 The Law at Randado [read 2014]
1956 Escape from Five Shadows [read 2015]
1959 Last Stand at Saber River [read 2017]
1961 Hombre [read 2013]
1950s The Complete Western Stories of Elmore Leonard [read 2009]
1969 The Big Bounce [read 2010]
1969 The Moonshine War [read 2012]
1970 Valdez Is Coming [n/a]
1972 Forty Lashes Less One [read 2020]
1974 Mr. Majestyk [n/a]
1974 Fifty-Two Pickup [n/a]
1976 Swag [n/a]

Edit March 18, 2021: This was pretty good, but I just skimmed for time, with some pauses to read the good action scenes. I lost a bit of the plot, but that's okay, because you never quite know where this author will be taking a story from one scene to the next. But I did catch the title reference, at least. I currently have this ranked at #552 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
